If you wish to quickly make money online, the first and the most important task is to choose the right niche to start with. How do you know which niche will make more money? Some will tell you that if there is a niche that makes money, then that niche is already taken up already. Actually, there are more niche that is still available to money making and is waiting for you to quickly make money from it.

While the choosing of the right niche takes some research, we have the following advice for you. Try to avoid niches such as money making, loan, law, real estate, technology and electrical gadgets. Many internet marketer has already dominated such niche and as a beginner, it will be extremely difficult for you to rank well in these niches.

The selection of a good niche boils down to nothing other than the law of supply and demand in economics. If you produce something that is highly demanded and there are not many competitors, then, you will make money. However, if there are many competitor for the same product, then it will be more difficult to dominate the market. On the other hand, if you produce something, you might make very little money if there is no buyer even if you have very few competitors.

Choosing the right niche often is a trial-and-error kind of things. Some other internet marketing gurus will probably tell you visit Clickbank and Amazon sites to see which are the most popular products sold. In some way, that works. However, we always start with a free tool offered by Google called the Google Adwords tools. You can use if for free too and can check it out by clicking the link above.

We have recently came across a newly established website, and we are curious to find how it performs. For the purpose of today’s case study, let’s look at this site. The site is Buy Audio Books and you can click the link to visit the site yourself. A quick look at the site suggests that the owner of the site knows what is doing and how to rank well in search engines. How do we know that? We are guessing at this time but let’s see what we can learn from this simple and new site.

From the title and content of the site, it is obvious that the owner had chosen the audio book niche. Now, if you type in the keyword “audio book” into the Google Adwords tool, you will find that the term “audio book” has an average search result of 450,000 search per month. The plural of the same term has an average search result of 673,000 searches per month. Now, these internet user who are searching for audio books will not necessarily ends up buying audio books.

Some are just curious with audio books and others are actually looking for free audio books. However, if you rank well for either the singular or plural of the audio book term, you would have established for yourself, a quick money making online niche. To find out the number of competitors there are in the internet, you type “audio books” (including the quotient mark) into google search engine. The search engine returned a result of 26,400,000 sites. This is far too competitive to dominate.
However, if you look further at the results from Google Adword tool, you will find that the term “buy audio book” (in both its plural and singular term) was searched 12,100 times in a month. Anything that is above 3,000 is considered decent search volume. Repeating the same process to find out the number of competitor, the term “buy audio book” have a competitor of 15,600 competing sites, which is not very high. This may be a good term to starts with for the site.

If you have installed add-ons such as SEOQuake to your firefox browser, you should be able to find out the page rank of the competing sites and the numbers of links from other sites. The first important thing to check is whether the sites has the targeted term in its URL. None of them has. They also have very low or no PR (page rank) at all with very few links linking to their site.

Now, let’s revisit the newly set-up Buy Audio Book site. The site made use of the free blogging platform offered by Google. Setting up the site is easy and there is no cost to register or host the domain. We would recommend it to anyone who is starting to venture into the make money online arena. Even if the venture turns out to be a failure, so be it.

The new site had selected buyaudiobooks as part of the URL and Buy Audio Book as the title of the site. The first post in the site is a review or description of The Last Lecture Audio Book, which had sold millions of copies in its printed form. This is a right step to take for the sites to make money online quickly.

Looking further into the post, we found that the site had created internal linking on his site using very targeted terms. This confirm our suspicion that the owner of the site in fact knows what he is doing to dominate the search engine.

We doubt that he would be able to rank well for the term audio book, but even if he just ranked well for the term “buy audio book”, that is still a good 12,000 searches per month. Assuming that 40% of those search landed on his site, that is 4800 unique visitors per month. This had not accounted for any other long-tail keyword that he is targeting for.

Furthermore, think about it, who would search for the term “buy audio book” if they are not intending to buy an audio book? Traffic that landed on this site are likely to be visitors who are genuinely searching for audio book and would likely convert well into sales. What about the money making part from this traffic? There are obviously plenty of choice for the owner of the site once he began to see some traffic trickling in.

He could either put up Adsense advert or he could sell audio books via his site by participating in affiliate program. The term “buy audio book” had quite a few competitors from Adsense and there are definitely adverts available to be served from Adsense. You can find out this information from Adword tools.

We can’t cover everything there is on the steps for quick money making online, but we believe that we had covered the essentials to finding a niche that you can start with.
